    ChloeWolfieGirl, Sep 5, 2015 :
The phone and desktop inplementations are very different, on the desktop you go to the music scope it searches all music avinues, etc etc, with unity 8 you choose what scopes you have if you dont want online options on scopes you can deselect where they come from, uninstall scopes or only use local scopes etc, by default it has online ones sure but you never have to use them.

I see the ubuntu phone as the most safe and secure option with my data as no apps can see any of my images without me saying which ones they can, the web browser when I go to a webpage that wants location it pops up a box asking if Im ok with that or not, its the same with the mic and cameras, and thats with all apps, theyre all sandboxed.

I think this artical is servierly lacking in what makes ubuntu great for privacy, and hasnt done there research and only focus on the negative aspects, Idk if by default it uses mobile data, or how searching stores data youve searched, but you can turn mobile data off but you are always in controll of what you search and who you get results from.

Theres no full encryption or vpn but its a new os. vpn has been talked about.

If you only use the app scope and store scope then youll have the same privacy issues when using android and the app store, if you install an app you have more privacy issues on android.

If you want to encrypt or use vpn then android is better. like android can be more secure if youre super careful with what apps you install but if youre not careful then Id say ubuntu touch is more secure expecially if you just use the app and store scope!

I've installed this OS, just to satisfy my curiosity!! :D
Bluetooth options seem to simply work but not really impact the hardware, WiFi & Hotspot works (yayy) :D
no cellular tho.. and massive battery drain (maybe due to no cellular?).. :(

Hi mate. No. I didn't try it because for compatibilities with. It says on top of article that it is highly recommended for nexus phone. Opo has different hardware and as wrote above network 3g doesn't work properly

Oneplus 2 is happening! The device is ordered! I am happy to announce that the Oneplus 2 is getting Ubuntu touch! I will also say that Oneplus 2 is second priority, the one is still first priority.

    Ubuntu Touch Noob..
Does .apk files (android apps) work on Ubuntu touch? (had a hunch since both OSes run on Linux)

    It's easier with multiboot.

No. At least until they get some emulation as far as I know.
