Things to try first: Close apps and reopen Reboot device Clear cache + ART/Dalvik in recovery Why is it called OnePlus 5 (and not OnePlus 4)? Spoiler: Click OnePlus' reasoning is that a number of employees are fan of the former NBA player, Robert Horry who had a number 5 jersey. However, there are other factors that come into play here, such as the OnePlus 5 being the 5th flagship phone. Another being that the number 4 is considered unlucky in many East Asian countries due to sounding similar to death. Spoiler: Click The technical process of rooting or unlocking the bootloader does not void the warranty of the OnePlus 5. However, we strongly suggest for you to only root or unlock the bootloader of the OnePlus 5 if you are confident that you understand the risks involved. By accessing resources regularly unavailable to software, the process may damage your hardware during or after the procedure, which is not covered under warranty. In warranty handling, we will need to verify that any faulty behavior is unrelated to rooting / unlocking first. Is there a pre-applied screen protector? Spoiler: Click A standard screen protector is pre-applied (professionally fitted) at the factory as gift and to minimise damage. It is not a premium or tempered glass. Will other chargers work with the OnePlus 5? Spoiler: Click Other 5V chargers (and Quick Chargers) should work with the OnePlus 5 but you may not achieve the maximum charging speeds that you can using the included/official DASH adaptor and cable. Therefore, it is recommended to use the DASH adaptor and cable.
