I can't even install the update. downloaded the update and reboot, it asks me to find the update file, then after choosing the file , it gives a failed to update msg... 3 times and I gave up.

Go to APK mirror, type in Google phone, then install the Google phone APK that says non-nexus. If you do that, you can install the Google phone the same way as a regular app. That's what I did m

Are you talking about the 4.1.3 update or installing the Google phone apk?

I'm not rooted, but the google dialer posted in APK form in this thread from XDA seems to fix the issue. Hopefully OP will fix. Had the issue on 4.1.1 and 4.1.3

don't mean to spam but one thing I left to mention is that besides noticeable more battery draining, the device is warmer than before when under the same usage as before the update

and put in a specific. battery drained from 58% to 54% just after I post these reply under mobile data... US attached 4g LTE

I just noticed my phone was staying awake a lot longer since installing the non-nexus version of the Google phone. Come to find out, the Google app is keeping the phone awake as long as I'm talking using the non-nexus Google phone app. Don't ask me why but I've tested it and the non-nexus Google phone apk is making the Google app keep the phone awake.

You can see in the screenshots that I have 25 minutes of phone calls and that the Google app has kept my phone awake for 25 minutes. Google app usually only hold my phone awake for around 6 to 8 minutes through a full charge. It's up to 25 minutes already through less than 25% of my battery. It's all because of the Google phone non-nexus apk. If I switch back to the OnePlus phone it no longer holds the phone awake. I hate that because I was loving the Google phone.

That's very interesting! I've been using the same non Nexus version of Google dialer for the past few days and I've noticed that my standby time is worse, I lose around 9-12% of battery each night (approx 7 hours) when I used to lose only 5-7%. I guess that might be the reason :(

I seriously don't want to go back to the stock dialer though, loving the Google one!

Did you find a solution for this wakelock? BTW I have the Google app disabled.

And one more question - did you find a way to make the stock Oxygen call UI circular image go away and replace it with the full screen Google one?

    Thanks mate!
