    Umm,
I had the feeling that battery performance depended solely on one's capabilities to configure the phone to get it.

Great the job of the beta is to catch bugs, so this is good.

    Experienced and competent user?

It isn't, please read up on beta program it doesn't work that way.

If you can't sort it yourself, you might be better sticking with official.

And after you followed the advice in this thread?

That wasn't what OP was asking, he wanted to flash OTA, small file his words, not full rom zip.

I didn't but the OP was specifically asking about installing OTA I thought best to clarify before it bought grief.

Yes but OP3 owners were used as Beta testers for the OP3T for 5 months last year. So that when the OP3T was released it came out with the upgraded Beta OS. Any work done by Beta testers will end up as official ROM for OP"s next big flagship device. The beta programme will still continue regardless.

I wonder why everyone asks to clear cache and wipe data to do a fresh start. why should we do this? is the update not supposed to work fine if we don't do that. Tech people can do that wiping data and cache. But normal people can't do that.

People who are asking to wipe data think for second, starting fresh & setting up all accounts and apps and downloading all songs etc., . Is that necessary to do?

Please make the update work. Don't ask us to do all these things.
