I have had my 3T since February and I have thoroughly enjoyed using it every day. Unfortunately the 5.0 update has spoiled this.
I read the forums regularly so I followed what seemed like good advice and factory reset my phone before downloading the update and after applying it. As soon as I started installing my apps and using them It was obvious that something was wrong. Simple apps like Twitter and Gmail were jerky when scrolling through pages. I play Hill Climb Racing 2 and this was also jerky and stuttering.
After a few days of this I decided to try a 'clean flash' by downloading the 1.5 gb image and install from local storage having let it delete everything. This made no difference and my 3T is still the same. I have tried every suggestion to improve the situation to no avail. I have read every one of the 7000+ posts so I know some people aren't having the issues I am but it is apparent that many are.
I would like to go back to 4.5.1 but the process would induce the brown animation and this feels like I'm somehow losing the 'stock' feel of my phone.
I am now patiently waiting for an update that will return my 3T to its former glory. Please don't let it take too long folks.

did a factory reset and the cache clean was working fine for a few days and now the pesky 4.1kb is back and refuses to get cleaned out! what could this 4.1kb cache be? also downloaded the oreo update on my laptop and reinstalled but the 4.1kb cache is strongly surviving and refuses to die!

Just maybe the system is fast enough to build a big cache of 4.1 KB as soon as you clear it ?

Overall, Oreo has been fairly smooth on my 3T, but it hasn't been trouble free like Nougat.

Sometimes when I wake up the phone having left Wi-Fi on, it fails to turn on the Wi-Fi radio. When it does this, the quick settings Wi-Fi toggle doesn't work and you can't access the Wi-Fi menu in settings. The only way to fix it is to reboot the phone. However, when you do this under this circumstance, it hangs on the white spinning shutdown circle and never switches off, so you have to do a hard shutdown and then switch it on. The phone works normally until this situation occurs again.

I have similar experience but some users weren't so lucky. I am sure in the next update they will address the issues.

Oreo update seems to be working fine now after few weeks, looks like it has to be time tested or maybe I got used to battery drain and occasional network issues [e]1f44d[/e]

    That's really strange.
Especially that the factory reset didn't do anything in your case.

Can it be that some process is causing this generic delay in all apps?
Are you familiar with apps like Betterbatterystats or gsam monitor that can help you check all activities?

I don't think that the update is causing your issues.
