Ok, have tested 4.0.1 for a few days now. - With Root and now completly without anything, just factory conditions. And I am noticing a huge amount of lag. Google Applications are laggy and studdery. If I am scrolling or just Changing the tab. - The System Animations are also sometimes really laggy. -Coming from an Iphone6s the Difference is just huge.- Is this Normal. Had an Note 4 in the past and it was a lot smoother. -No extra Apps installed, only updated the System Apps.
Sometimes the Recent Apps Screen is very smooth and the main time it studders like hell. And this switching between Studder and Smooth is just all the time. - Any Idea?

I will confess I noticed a bit of stuttering, too. I did a factory reset, wiped cache etc, and it still stutters. It's better now, but from time to time, especially with animations, it's noticeable. Didn't have this issue with 4.0. The battery took a hit, too. It's still decent, but I lost 1.5-2h of SOT after updating to 4.0.1 (9-9.5h on 4.0 to 7.5h on 4.0.1). Formatting the device, clearing caches didn't resolve that issue (and no, I'm not using FB). On the plus side, my WiFi seems more stable. On 4.0 it would disconnect quite often, on 4.0.1 only from time to time.

Perhaps @TweakIt can weigh in on this topic.

Ah well, that's a matter of definition, I guess. Your definition of "excellent" may not be the same as mine. :) And, some of us did notice a decrease in SOT, even without FB installed. I know... How could this be? :) Also, aggressive doze is only a partial solution to what ails us.

on this page....let's see, 3 people from India and one from UK asking how to update. a quick scan of ANY of the pages will tell you the answer over and over and over.... set aside 2 minutes of your day to download Opera VPN app, open it, switch to Canada. BINGO. as for the other complaining about BUGS, mostly from folks that have been on this forum for a week, days, hours... heck even joining today like @abhiiyengar89 , it isn't rocket science folks. do a factory reset or clean install cuz it runs like a hot knife through butter on everyone elses OP3T.

yes, i did a factory reset & clean install and cleared the cache. Check your battery usage. Is "Android System," separate from "Android OS," near the top of your list? It wasn't with marshmallow. Nougat is a battery dud.

I was using the phone the day before on 3.5.4, and the next day on 4.0.1. Huge battery drain. All apps, settings, setup, wifi, bluetooth (never turned on actually), ALL the same. Very particular about my usage and setup, which is part of why I love Android. There is something wrong with nougat in the form of battery drain. dash charge & doze may cover up some of it, but something is wrong.

OP3T on 3.5.4 on the other hand, had the best battery life of any phone I've ever used. Hands down
