[OPX][Configuration] Superb Performance+Battery

  1. rockuppl Gingerbread Nov 18, 2015

    rockuppl, Nov 18, 2015 :
Disclaimer: Rooting does not void the OnePlus X’s warranty, though damaging your hardware (i.e., burning up your CPU by overclocking, hard bricking the device) will. You proceed at your own risk! I accept no responsibility for what you do with your phone. Follow the directions closely, and the odds are you will succeed without any trouble. If you are not sure what you are doing, do some more research before you try. If you get confused with terminology, try looking here for answers or Google it. If you get stuck, post a question in the thread— I 'll help you.

    What you Need!!

Step 1 ----- Root your OPX & install TWRP Recovery------

I won't go in detail, one of my friend @CafeKampuchia has already made a well detailed guide on XDA.
    LINK

    Step 2 ----- Install Xposed(5.1.1) ----- [Credits @rovo89]

    >Install Xposed Installer ---Link
    >Reboot into recovery, flash Xposed Framework ---Link
    >Reboot to system

    Step 3 ----- Install Busy Box ------

You can find it in Play Store or Direct PlayStoreLink
    >Open it then give root privileges
    >click on install and you are done

    Step 4 ----- Flash "blu_spark r94" Kernel ------ [Full credits @eng.stk]

    >Reboot to recovery
    >Flash blu_spark kernel ------ Thread Link------
    >Reboot to system

Step 5 ----- Install Greenify and turn on the module in Xposed------

    >Install Greenify
    >Open Xposed , tick Greenify in Module
    >Reboot System
    >Choose your apps to be hibernated

Step 6 ------ Drain battery to 5% and then charge it non-stop to 100% ------

That's it , you are good to go. No Battery Drain in Stand By, No Frame Drops in Asphalt and Injustice with Fluidic Performance

    >FULLY TESTED BY ME< :)

[Note:- It's always recommended to take a NANDROID Backup of Stock Rom before rooting or flashing kernel. In case, something goes wrong, you can easily come back to default setting]

As Some People were demanding Screenshots

    >Usage Time from last full charge-15hrs 30mins and still 40% battery left
    >On Wifi (25% of time) , on Cellular Data (75% of time)
    >In between had to restart phone 5 times(for XPOSED and some config) which took 2% battery each time i restarted
    >Actual battery which should be is 50%(SOT 4hrs)................. :D :D :D

    Perfect guide.

I imagine that with this kernel GPU is handled differently and the games are fluid. True?

GPU is underclocked to 27mhz in stand by mode
CPU Cores are shut down to one on 200mhz in stand by mode unlike Stock where all 4 cores were running :D

N yes no Frame drops for me in 2 games Asphalt and Injustice

I'm getting over 5 hours screen on time with stock kernel and oxygenOS 2.1.2, so no point in doing this yet I guess.

Mate the point is battery drain even in STAND BY MODE, SOT you can get 6 hrs also but it's the time frame. Like 6hrs SOT you can get in 6 hrs also , 24hrs or 30hrs ;-)
On stock i was getting SOT of 5.25hrs but in 15-16 hrs but here it will exceed 24 hrs :D

It says you have to unroot in order to update OTA's, but I also heard OP is launching flashable updates soon. Can anyone confirm this?

    rockuppl, Nov 18, 2015 :
No overclocking rather it underclocks both Cpu(200mhz) as well as Gpu(27mhz) in Deep sleep state to preserve extra battery.
