At the moment it's difficult but i'm pretty optimistic that by end of next year there will be an improvement of the fingerprint technology embedded underneath the display, that way we get the best of both world's. I do like the fingerprint scanner in the front but I don't mind it being at the back for the moment to get a better display.

i agree, at the middle/end of the 2018 manufacturers will probably start making the fingerprint scanner on the screen.
untill then, i probably wont buy a new smartphone

I don't hate it on the back, but the side (like the nextbit robin, or the razor phone) those are good and practical.

I prefer to have it on the power button itself.. as it's the only best option not spoiling the look of oneplus5

    * fingerprint scanner on power button
    * having a little larger Size power button

yhea, however, that would probably make the phone more expensive, thats the main reason they probably went for it on the back

I'll be honest i don't mind it on the back, yes I like it on the front more, but it's ok in my book. Now some ppl say they would like it to be one with the side power button, I would have to disagree since phones that i have seen with power/fingerprint scanner button had a wobble to them giving me a nasty cheap felling. I am sure you all would like a fingerprint scanner under the display but i will make a presumption that the first generation will not be very accurate, could affect quality of display and will jack up the price again.

Well....when this tech comes most flagships will have it. So on avg. prices of most flagship will inflate along with OP devices. So in the end they will again be 40-50% cheaper than other flagships....
