Mic issue. One plus one microphone not working properly

  1. Yaskamal Eclair Oct 17, 2014

    Yaskamal, Oct 17, 2014 :
    Hi,

    I got my one plus one phone two days back.

    I realised when ever i speak the other person cant hear my voice properly.
    he always complained that my voice just garbled a lot.

    I didn't believe him so I tried by myself and can also hear the same distorted garbled voice.

    Could anyone please help me if its software issue or Audio chip hardware issue.

    I'm really worried.

    My issue with mic is it's pickup, during video or audio recording, the resulting audio is always way too soft.

    Same problem here..
    i read that we can solve it like this:

    1. Go to system/etc/mixer_paths.xml
    2. Mount system as R/W
    3. Open up mixer_paths.xml with Text Editor
    4. Scroll close to the bottom of the text, your little scroll position indicator should be about an inch up from the bottom of your screen(no on screen buttons)
    5. You will see <!-- Analog input devices --> and a bunch of text underneath.
    6. I wasn't entirely sure which mic would make this work so I changed the <path name+"main-mic"> value from 84 to 100. (Play around with the value until you find a sweet spot.) IF YOU GET ENVIRONMENTAL MICROPHONE INTERFERENCE, TRY TURNING THE VALUES BACK DOWN A BIT.
    7. Save the changed mixer_paths.xml and reboot your device for good measure

    im not sure how to do this.. can anyone help?

    I'm not sure if it's the latest 44s or the app Viper4Android that fixes my low mic issue. Had a long hours of hangouts call with my family the other day and they said the audio is very good compared to the last time we did hangouts.

    But it should be ok with the "normal" calls... what a shame..

    you need to have a your OPO rooted and you need a browser that gives you root access. I use "root browser" from the playstore. DOwnload that, open and navigate to the file in step 1.

    I am currently having this issue and I noticed some odd behavior. When I hold the phone to my ear and speak while in a call the other end can barely hear it if I speak loudly. Now if I hold the phone out horizontally as if I'm talking with speaker phone on the other end can hear it if I talk normal...kind of. I was continually talking and the other end would hear the sound go up and down in volume while I was talking. It was as if the phone was trying to auto adjust to higher sounds or something and reducing the volume.

    You need root and this workaround disables the noise reduction using the other microphones, it'll use only the bottom microphone for audio calls.

    The instructions:

    If you could, edit /system/build.prop. Change

    ro.qc.sdk.audio.fluencetype=fluence

    to

    ro.qc.sdk.audio.fluencetype=none

    Then, edit /system/etc/audio_platform_info.xml

    <device name="SND_DEVICE_IN_HANDSET_MIC" acdb_id="40" />

    to

    <device name="SND_DEVICE_IN_HANDSET_MIC" acdb_id="4" />

    Reboot.

    I have the same problem but have no experience of rooting, is it doable for a novice?

    It is doable if you are very careful, research thoroughly, ask if you are even a little bit uncertain. Lot of guides in the forum about rooting. Start with user @gusuraman 's link to rooting basics in his signature on the right.

    And take a backup before anything.

    no root needed , just close the back mic with something... its echo from the noise canceling system
