may be.. you could raise the issue with the service centre... if the battery is faulty they might replace it or if the cell is itself faulty they might replace it... take it to the service centre

It seems like OnePlus 5 back is heating like a hot pan on stove, when it's on dash charging....!!

Earlier than the recent update. it was not happening. Please get this issue sorted on priority.

I bought my phone today and already charged it to full. However, with 98% battery, it shows 5 hours left. Is the battery supposed to drain this quickly ?

For how long have you had the phone? Usually when the battery life goes to sh*t there's no fixing it. I had my 1+5 for two months now and the battery is still far superior to any other phone I had. Lasts a full day with a 80-90% charge.

It does but topping off your battery to 100% is bad in general and when it stops charging the battery eventually falls to 99% and instantly fills back up to 100%. You cant see it with your eyes but that's what goes on there.

I'm using the 3. I've noticed in the last couple of days I'm having to charge my phone alot more. before it was while I'm getting ready for work and that's it, it was enough so I'm not sure what's going on.

And when it gets used to being constantly full it's like getting fat from eating too much, you become more easily exhausted and crave more food (power).

Thru you use the phone you are adding the "cycles" of your battery. The battery slowly deteriorates based on how you use and charge your phone. Usually, after one year of usage with charging the phone daily, your battery will have around 80% ~ 85% of its original capacity, which makes the real capacity of your battery be around 2500 mah. If you are getting around 3hrs - 4hrs battery life with combination usage without special optimizations, the battery life is perfectly fine with regard to its current capacity. You can replace the old battery with a brand new battery thru OnePlus customer service or third party. It's pretty easy and also cheap (around $80 at most). After doing that, you will have the battery life as good as when you got it brand new.

This isn't anything that I need help with..but I am extremely happy with the way battery life has improved...it's like the more the device is being used the better it is performing...this time I have pulled 36 hrs of battery life with 25% of juice still left which I can easily pass half a day..the SOT is near about 5.5 hrs.I haven't seen or experienced this even with bigger battery capacity...to be true the OnePlus has done a great great job...this even when the ambient temperature is 34-35°C...yes it remains a bit hot n humid during September in India...let's see how it goes in winters...

You can reduce that by learning hot to use the search function instead of opening a redundant thread.
