Language can't be changed, if u want to root, select install, select the super su and flash away and reboot, else just perform a factory reset it would also reset the recovery if not overwrited, or u can flash full ROM to reset

Hey, many thanks for this awesome guide!
Can I ask you something though? About a year ago, when I had just bought my OnePlus One, I had come across agreat Toolbox developed by @inthiaano, that would Boot Recovery and Fastboot, Lock/Unlock the Bootloader, Flash TWRP and Install Stock CM11S. That was called "One Plus One Toolbox v5".

Would it be possible to use that for the OnePlus X as well? It would really save a great deal of time and eliminate errors while on command prompt.
Here is the link for it: http://inthiaano.com/oneplus-one-toolbox/

Hey Buddy all toolkits are device specific as they run the scripts in the background, thus I would not recommend using them on the X.

The process is fairly simple and I have tried my best to explain in detail, let me know if you need any help and if I come across any automated toolkit to root the X I shall let you know

Thanks for your reply. I thought it would be nonadvisable to use an OPO toolkit with the X.
Your guide is really very detailed so I guess there won't be a problem I guess. I just wanted to ask you, is it possible to root without flashing a custom recovery?

I want to ask the same thing. I think it's possible, but then OTA's won't be available, because we won't be able to unroot the device? That's my understanding of it, at least.

Hi, i would know if unlocking bootloader invalidates warranty and if it's possible restore the original one.

    Thanks.

As far as the OPO was concerned the warranty wojld not void and stock recovery could be restored. I expect it will be the same with the X.

Well stock recovery cant flash SuperSU binaries thus as of now its not possible to root without using a custom recovery to flash. I feel having a custom recovery does not limit you in any way infact it gives you more options. If you are concerned about the OTA, whenever its out you can either flash the full rom to update which can be done without loosing the data or just restore original system partition by dirty flashing the current rom and do the OTA, whatever you feel.

From my experience its always better flash with twrp and you run into less issues.

    Answered above.

With the One it was announced but officially they have not announced the warranty void with unlocked bootleader, so i assume thats not the case as i know people have returned devices with unlocked bootloader and got full refund here in India. The service centre also accepts devices with unlocked bootloader, all they say that there should not be any damage due to it. Thus the warranty would still stand like before and it has nothing to do with the root status.
