that's why I said it is unlikely to be an issue with the OS.

the Best way for you to fix it is as I suggested. otherwise, you will keep going around in circles and still won't find the answer.

    Same here.

So, If I do a factory reset/wipe cache deal and then not install any apps. What do I do if the device keeps being awake? What do I do If I install Wakelock Detector to see what's causing it and there is nothing causing a major wakelock? Ok, so lets now go and follow all these guides, and try again... Still a wakelock.

It makes little difference If I have or have not got my apps installed. The apps I install are the same apps I have and use on both a stock Nexus 5 6.0.1 and a Lineage OS Nexus 7 2013. My OP3t is getting a total of about 100 wakelocks, same as my 5 and 7 (+/-10). And yet, the Nexus 5 and 7 both go to sleep, and will only drain 1-2% over night compared to the 10-20% of my 3t.

I've factory reset, I've followed the guides that people post, and heck I have other devices. There is a problem with OOS. End of.

    See above.

how would you explain the good battery life that many people are getting?

I am guessing that an app has to be optimized for the particular OS version. if an app isn't well optimized, it will cause issues like battery drain, lag, etc.

I have about 20 apps installed, in addition to what came pre-installed.

I'm on OOS 4.1.3 and I easily get over 8 hours SOT, both on mobile data and WiFi, over a time of 30 hours to 48 hours, depending on usage. if the OS was faulty, how will you explain this?

Before perform a factory reset , try run a day in safe mode and see how it works, maybe you have a apps that you instaled and are consumed your batterry, in this way you don't have do a factory reset , just search that culpirt app that you instaled. Mine even after factory reset , after run in safe mode, the batterry stil drain over night. The drain stop only if I turn off wifi (I lose only 1%) , so maybe we have a issues compatibility , or an app that using wifi a lot over night .

yess , because in safe mode all apps that you have installed are disabled. I am on 4.1.3 , the problems starts with 4.0.2 , but with 4.0.3 the phone's got crazy, was very laggy, apps crashed , batterry drain , I tried reflash 4.1.3 , I tried roll back to 4.0.2 , I don't use oficial app like badoo or facebook, I am using the web for this, in fact the third part apps are wassap, poweramp and viki movie. Other apps that I use are chrome, YouTube, comunity. So I don't have any hard app. I don't complain about sot , because I got min 5 hours , but over night I lose alot.

Dude I am not here to convince anyone nor is oneplus paying me for posting threads. This is what worked for me after loads of surfing over the net. So just wanted to help people so that they give it a try and see if it works for them. Just want to help people like me who are frustrated with the latest update ruining the Android experience.

I am not a very technical person will it comes to gadgets and all. I am a very basic user who likes to own a good handset. I don't even know how to root a phone and flash those custome roms, have absolutely no idea about them. My phone is relatively new about more than a month old. After the update my battery started behaving weird by just giving me a sot of around 3 hours which really annoyed me and made me keen to further dig into this issue. And after trying this fix it has got back to normal giving me a sot of around 4.5 to 5 hours. Still nothing fancy like an sot of 6 - 7 hours, which I wonder how do people get.

Well I'm not rooted nor have I flashed custom ROMs on this device as of yet. I have my own set of battery tips I've shared countless times on the forum that have seemed to help many users if you want to give them a try.
