[Feature Request] Add icon when low-light camera is active/ Manual-camera switching.

I believe that knowing when low light camera is active is a must. Potentially, an icon can be added on screen much like it happens with flash etc.

Also what about switching cameras manually. What you guys think?

Ooh. A geeky feature?! I'm all for it. Is there currently an indication in the "photo information"?

  7. G_Nikos_Margaritis_KagW Gingerbread Dec 15, 2017

    G_Nikos_Margaritis_KagW, Dec 15, 2017 :
No there is no indication in the photo or when you try to take a photo. So essentially you do not know which camera of the 2 is in use.

Currently, we can not also force the phone to use a specific camera, it decides on its own, however it is not known under how much light exposure this happens.

Well it's not unknown. The low-light camera kicks in if light is under 10 lux which is very very low. Most of the times when we are clicking photos in dark, the second camera is not even active because the threshold hasn't been reached. But yeah any indication as well as the option to switch to it manually would be great!

Nope. If you cover the normal one, it'll switch with the LL [Low Light], but if the scenery is not under 10 lux, it will switch back again on the normal one even if it's cover, and so on.
So your phone will only try to switch between its 2 lens.

Without focusing or anything? With the high possibility of smudging the lens?
Then right after you would say "Oh the camera is crap, the photo is not good".
Do you think taking picture is instantaneous? Even in DSLR, in LL, you have to change settings.

I never said it's a good way to switch but if you really need to then it's a compromise you have to take

first with primary second with secondary it does work but obviously there are flaws with this method and I agree with you that you may need to change settings but it's just a quick fix in the meantime

Sorry what? You wanna show a real difference with your method, then take a real LL photo. I really wanna see how a super fast switch can do if it doesn't have time to process a image.

I don't disagree with you but this is from what I know the only way to switch between them
