How to ship OPO to Malaysia?

    • OnePlus is NOT going to send us the phone directly to Malaysia as Malaysia is not one of the 16 initial launch countries.
OnePlus is available in the following countries and areas for now:
    United States
    Sweden
    Denmark
    Netherlands
    United Kingdom
    Spain
    Germany
    France
    Italy
    Finland
    Belgium
    Austria
    Canada
    Hong Kong
    Taiwan
    Portugal
    • If you have family/relatives/friends in one of the launch countries, you may ship your device to the selected country, and have them bring your phone back to Malaysia.
    A. Using Parcel Forwarding Service
    • If you do not have anyone in launch countries, you may use the parcel forwarding service provided by third party.
    • Do take note that the rate we got from any parcel forwarding company is always cheaper than public rate. *NEW*
    • Read the <TUTORIAL on How to Purchase your OPO (including parcel forwarding service)> Thanks @Felix
    • Normally it will take roughly 9-12 days for OPO to ship from U.S. to Malaysia.
    • Below are the estimated cost for bringing in OPO to Malaysia.

[Tutorial] Ordering the OnePlus One via Comgateway

    Part A: Comgateway
    1. Register and get a US Address
    2. Go to Part B
    3. Welcome back, if you are reading this and have not completed reading Part B as mentioned in item 2 above, do push up 20 times and move on to Part B.
    4. Seriously... 20 push ups, then Part B.
    5. Back to business. Once your brand new OnePlus One reaches your U.S. Address, Comgateway will send an email to you. Normally they would attached the packing slip received to the email. You can download their App at the Play Store if you do not want to miss the notification.
    6. Sign In to your Comgateway account.
    7. Select Packages at U.S. Address.
    8. Click on your package, and select Ship Now
    9. Fill in the required details.
    10. You will get a summary of the total cost of shipping your OnePlus One to Malaysia.
    11. Pay via PayPal or Credit Card
    12. If payment goes through, you will receive another notification email from Comgateway, notifying you of the shipment.
    13. Wait for DHL to arrive at your doorstep:D

    Part B: OnePlus
    1. Register
    2. Login and go to Store Account (under human icon)
    3. Go to Address Book, and add New Address
    4. Billing Address
Key in your Malaysian Credit Card Address here. This address is where the bank sends all your monthly statements to. It can be your house, or your office.
    5. Tick Use as my default billing address. Save Address.
    6. Shipping Address
Key in the address you got from Comgateway (Refer to Part A) here. Your phone number here is the phone number provided by Comgateway.
    7. Tick Use as my default shipping address. Save Address.
    8. Check if you can make international online purchases from your Credit/Debit card or not. If you are not sure, call the bank. Better yet, go there and inform them to enable it.

That's all you need to do before receiving your invite.

    Next Step: Keep reading below...
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    After receiving the invite:
    1. Click on the link in the email, and claim your invite
    2. Purchase whatever it is that you need from the store
    3. Click checkout when you are done
    4. At the checkout page, two things can happen.
Situation 1: All is well. Billing address (Malaysia) and shipping address (United States) will be shown.
Situation 2: Your Billing Address and Shipping Address are listed as the same, which is the Malaysian address. DON'T PANIC!
    5. Untick Use Billing Address as Shipping Address.
    6. Select your U.S. Address from the dropdown under Shipping Address.
    7. Do a final checking to ensure that the Billing Address is the same as your Credit Card address, as this is where most problems occur.
    8. Once you are satisfied with everything, proceed to checkout via PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account to use this payment method.

NOTE: As OnePlus already allowed payments to be made from anywhere in the world, and not restricted to the 16 launched countries, you DO NOT have to use the BuyForMe service from Comgateway. Your Malaysian Card will do just fine.

    9. Login to your PayPal if you have an account, OR select Direct Debit/Credit Card if you don't.
    10. Recheck to ensure details are correctly entered.

How to change PayPal currency to transaction currency (USD) to get better exchange rates than provided by Paypal
(Credit to our own @w.cheng1226 for this):

    11. Confirm your payment. At this point PayPal will check the system to ensure that the Credit Card address entered matches the address in OnePlus system (now you understand why it is important to key in the address exactly as it is?). Any discrepancies found will result in your payment being rejected and you having a hissy fit.
    12. If payment is rejected, read this post again. If it goes through, CONGRATULATIONS! You are now the proud owner of a OnePlus One.
    13. You will receive another email from OnePlus confirming your recent purchase. Keep this email for future reference.

From hereon, shipment will be delivered via UPS to your U.S. Address.

Next Step: Refer to Part A

Foot note: Do not hesitate to ask me or fellow forumners here if further clarification is needed. Do send in those likes if this post is helpful:)

    Thanks @Felix

[Tutorial] How to apply e-permit from SIRIM Online

If you are unlucky enough, your parcel might be detained by Malaysia customs. For my case, the DHL employee contacted me to apply for SIRIM sticker even before my parcel reach Malaysia (Don't ask me why).

    Alright, back to the business.
    1. FedEx/DHL employee provide you with the details (contact person, email, tel no.) of the nearest SIRIM branch. (Penang Branch for my case)
    2. Contact SIRIM and tell them you need to apply for E-Permit
    3. SIRIM employee will send you 2 forms via email
      • Application for Special Approval for Communication and Multimedia Product
      • Application form for E-Permit (For Non-registered User)
    4. Fill up the form manually or use PDF editor
    5. Deposit cash RM100 into SIRIM's RHB bank account 21245140086087 (SIRIM QAS INTERNATIONAL SDN BHD)
    6. Documents required
      • IC copy (front and back)
      • Airway bill (FedEx/DHL will email u)
      • Invoice (Download from OP account)
      • Brochure/ catalog of the item
      • Bank-in slip
    7. Scan all the documents required
    8. Attach all the documents in the email
    9. Send email to SIRIM
    10. Wait for reply email (normally within 24 hours)
    11. Receive the reply email with the attachments
      • E-Permit
      • Receipt of your RM100 payment
    12. Send the E-Permit to FedEx/DHL employee who contacted you
    13. Hit the refresh button of the FedEx/DHL tracking system website until your F5 key broken to check for the latest update :p

    Attached are
    1. 2 SIRIM forms
    2. Sample of the brochure/catalog
    3. Sample of SIRIM forms
    4. Sample of E-permit

    Thanks @Jevoly

    Declaration:
    Cell Phone Tariff Code:
    8517.12.000 (SIRIM RM100.00 up to 3 Devices)
Electronics (Others) Tariff Code: 8543.70.990 (10% Sales-tax per Quantity)
    Reference here: http://tariff.customs.gov.my/

How your sales tax being calculate?
    F.O.B.
(Free On Board) + Freight + Insurance = C.I.F. (Costs, Insurance & Freight)
C.I.F. x 10% = Customs Duty that you need to pay

    Example A
    comGateway
declared 1+1 as "Cell Phone", and you declared parcel value "350$"
You just have to pay SIRIM(RM100.00) if you are unlucky get held by Customs.

    Example B**
comGateway declared 1+1 as "Electronics", and you declared parcel value "350$"
    You will have to pay RM1199.04 x 10% = RM119.90
**Example B are excluded Duty Handling fee that DHL/Fedex/others going to charge you, depend on their policy
    [ 350$ value x 3.20 rate = RM1120.00 ] + [ 24$ freight x 3.20 rate = RM76.80 ] + [ RM1120 x 0.2% insurance = RM2.24 ] = RM1199.04

USD to MYR exchange rate are updating everyday according to Customs.

    Example C

Disclaimer: No matter you declare as Cell Phone or Electronics Item, either get SIRIM or Sales Tax is the matter of luck, you know we are living in Bolehland, anything could happen. Above formula or calculation is just as a references, anything gone wrong, I'm not responsible for it.
