[Gathering more information] After OTA update to 4.1.7 GPS is not working

from what I see this was just the same version as available via OTA - 4.1.7 compilation A3003_16_170821, at least this is what I see now, but during the remote session the agent could do anything like apply a script or reset something and then flash the new version. The fact is - it is fixed. And to be honest, I was positively surprised how easy it was to contact the support by chat, agree the session and get this fixed via remote session.

I run Linux on all my computers therefore the remote help is useless. Its also ridiculous that is required. If i had time i would rather have a functioning resurection remix.... unfortunately this phone is not as open as the OnePlus one. Lets face it, we will have to start flashing soon anyway and a completely botched 4.1.7 update with the GPS proves OnePlus is already tossed this phone to the side. I do not have high hopes for Android O.. OOS 4.1.7 has to have the gps jump started each time by another app such as GPS status. Somewhere there lies the issue. Clean flash 4.1.7 has a bug that 4.1.6 did not have.

Surprisingly no, I thought it would erase everything too but it did just what it was intended to do, downgrade OxygenOS.
When the process was done, all my apps, photos, contacts etc were just where I left them.
I even double checked in the "about phone" section to make sure it worked and it showed 4.1.6

However I wanted a clean fresh start anyway so once it was done I did a factory reset just to make sure everything is working and normal.

I forgot to add but I deviated from the instructions OnePlus provides. I used a method I saw on youtube, the link is provided. It's almost the same, the difference is I installed from internal storage rather than connecting to my PC.

    1. Downloaded OxygenOS 4.1.6 to my PC
    2. Transferred the downloaded file to the OP3T
    3. Loaded the phone into recovery mode
    4. Install from internal storage
